Wind Farm in Peru

The 114 MW Inka wind project was part of a special government effort to promote renewable energy in the country. It consisted of two different sites along the northern shore of Peru, a 30.9 MW Talara site located close to the city of Piura and one 83.2 MW  Cupisnique site located close to the city of Trujillo. The projects have 62 Vestas  V100-1.8  wind turbines and has 20-year power purchase contracts secured at the 2010 Renewable auction promoted by the Peruvian Government. Since entering into commercial operations in 2014, the Talara and Cupisnique wind fams have contributed with over 444 GWh/year of clean power to the development of the country, prodiving enough power to meet the needs 350 thousand Peruvian families and avoiding  3 million tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
