Closing of Brazilian Wind Assets sale to Patria Investimentos

ContourGlobal is pleased to announce the closing of the sale of its Brazilian wind power assets to investment manager Patria Investimentos, for a total of approximately 600MW of installed capacity. This transaction aligns with ContourGlobal's strategy to capture value through strategic asset rotation to support its ambitious growth plan in renewables, including wind and solar generation coupled with storage solutions, and in lower emissions thermal.

The deal includes the sale of the Asa Branca, Chapada I, Chapada II, and Chapada III wind farms, which collectively total approximately 600 MW of installed capacity, to Patria Investimentos, a global alternative asset manager and industry leader in Latin America, and Invenergy, an American company leading in the operation and development of renewable generation plants.

By capturing value from the sale of its Brazilian assets, ContourGlobal can accelerate its strategy and reinvest in high-growth renewable energy opportunities. The company is also prioritizing renewable or thermal assets that can be coupled with innovative offtake solutions, including advanced power purchase agreements (PPAs) and hedging instruments, to maximize value creation. Following this strategic divestment, ContourGlobal remains committed to exploring new opportunities across South America, continuing its mission to support the global transition to sustainable energy.

ContourGlobal's President of Americas, Fernando Gonzalez, stated, “The successful closing of this transaction enables us to focus on our core strategy of developing a robust pipeline of renewable energy projects across the region. As we exit from Brazil, we want to wholeheartedly thank our colleagues who have been a fantastic part of the ContourGlobal family and wish them all the best for their future. We are determined to pursue future growth prospects in renewables across the Americas and committed to generate value in the region from the sustainable transition of our thermal fleet”.
