ContourGlobal operates a diversified portfolio of 122 energy assets across Europe, with a total capacity of 2,632 MW, spanning renewable, thermal, and hybrid technologies.
In Italy, we manage 71 solar PV plants distributed across 14 regions, totaling over 113 MW of clean energy fully integrated into the national grid. Our commitment to long-term sustainability is further reflected in ongoing repowering efforts to enhance efficiency and output.
In Austria, our 162 MW wind portfolio consists of 7 operational plants strategically located to harness the region’s wind resources.
In Spain, our assets include 250 MW of concentrated solar power (CSP) and an 800 MW combined cycle gas turbine plant, supporting both renewable generation and flexible baseload power.
In Bulgaria, we operate a mixed portfolio of 851 MW, with coal and renewable plus BESS under construction or development representing a contribution to the country’s transition to cleaner energy
Our presence extends to Slovakia, Romania, Armenia, where we operate solar, hydro, and cogeneration plants. Together, these assets strengthen the region’s energy resilience and decarbonization goals.
Our Assets in Europe
Our Countries in Europe
Italy
ContourGlobal owns and operates 71 state-of-the-art ground- and roof-mounted PV plants across Italy, with a total DC capacity set to reach 113 MW following our repowering and revamping initiatives. Fully integrated into the Italian National Grid, these assets benefit from a fixed 20-year feed-in tariff, ensuring long-term financial stability. Our strong track record has attracted strategic investment, with Energy Infrastructure Partners holding a 49% stake in our Italian portfolio. In addition to a robust pipeline of greenfield projects, we are optimizing existing assets to maximize efficiency and extend their lifespan. With 6.4 MW already connected as merchant sections, we are on track to reach 113 MW by early 2026. Once fully upgraded, our plants will generate 174 GWh annually.
Spain
ContourGlobal operates five concentrating solar power (CSP) plants in Spain with a total of 250 MW and an 800 MW combined cycle thermal power plant in Arrúbal. The facilities, all ISO certified, supply energy to more than 160,000 households and support grid stability. The company also invests in the local area, promoting training and initiatives for the local community.
Austria
ContourGlobal is one of the leading wind power producers in Austria, with seven wind farms spread across the country and a total installed capacity of more than 162 MW. Activities include both acquired plants and farms renovated through repowering operations, which have increased production efficiency by reducing the number of turbines. Today, annual production exceeds 400 GWh, contributing significantly to Austria’s energy transition.
The company looks to the future with optimism, focusing on new developments in wind, solar and energy storage. Repowering existing sites is a key element of the sustainable growth strategy. ContourGlobal also supports local communities through social, cultural and public service support initiatives, strengthening the link between the company and the local area.
Armenia
ContourGlobal is present in Armenia since July 2015, when we acquired the Vorotan Complex of Hydroelectric Power Stations – a complex of three hydroelectric power stations with an overall capacity of 404.2 MW and an average annual power generation of 1.15 TWh/year.
2025 will be celebration year for Armenia, being the year that marks the 10th Anniversary of CG’s presence in Armenia, and also the 55th Anniversary of Tatev HPP, a true gem of the Soviet era energy system, as they used to call it and as it is known among the veterans of the energy sector in Armenia.
Bulgaria
ContourGlobal is advancing its ambition to become a predominantly renewable power producer by 2030, with the partial transformation of the Maritsa East 3 Thermal Power Plant as a key element of this strategy. Units 1 and 2 are being considered for repurposing to renewable power generation and energy storage projects, leveraging existing infrastructure to support Bulgaria’s energy transition.
Slovakia
ContourGlobal owns ground-mounted PV solar energy plants at 32 sites in Slovakia with a gross capacity of 35 MW, each of which is operational and connected to the Slovakian national energy grid. The Slovakian Solar Plants, commenced operations between 2010 and 2011.
