  • ContourGlobal celebrated 20 years since incorporation in the Unites States, bringing together partners, stakeholders and institutions for a celebration event in Milan.
  • 2025 marks a pivotal year of construction for ContourGlobal, during which the company is set to reach
3 GWh of battery energy storage (BESS) capacity put in operation and more than 650 MW of new photovoltaic (PV) capacity commissioned.
  • The company unveiled its new brand identity, aligned with a renewed purpose and a global strategy focused on renewables, battery energy storage and advanced energy management solutions.

ContourGlobal marked its 20th anniversary with a celebration at Galleria Meravigli, in the heart of Milan’s financial district, attended by more than 250 guests and streamed live to over 1,300 employees worldwide. The company reflected on two decades of growth since the incorporation in the United States, highlighting key milestones such as the arrival of KKR as shareholder in 2022, the appointment of a new leadership team led by Antonio Cammisecra to drive a new strategy.

During the event, ContourGlobal announced that 2025 — defined as the first “year of construction” under its new strategy — will see the company achieve 3 GWh of battery energy storage (BESS) capacity in operation and more than 650 MW of new photovoltaic (PV) capacity commissioned, underscoring its evolution into a predominantly renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP). The company also unveiled its new brand identity, a symbol of its ongoing transformation and marking a clear step in the evolution of its industrial and commercial strategy.

“Twenty years after our founding, ContourGlobal celebrates its roots and legacy as a reliable power producer that has always embraced the energy of its time while opening a new chapter in its history”, said Antonio Cammisecra, President and Chief Executive Officer of ContourGlobal. “Our new brand identity reflects a new corporate purpose – The Right Power Forward – and our industrial strategy focused on investments in proven renewable technologies and lower-emission natural gas. We are already delivering on this strategy, with 3 GWh of BESS capacity and over 650 MW of new PV capacity coming into operation during our 20th anniversary year, which is also our year of construction.”

Founded in 2005 to deliver reliable energy where it was needed most, the company rapidly expanded across continents — from thermal assets in Africa and Eastern Europe to pioneering renewable projects in Latin America. Among the company’s landmark achievements in the first decade, Peru’s first large-scale wind farms and KivuWatt in Rwanda, the world’s first bio-methane-to-power facility using natural gas extracted from the deep waters of Lake Kivu.

The following ten years were defined by transformation and scale. After its 2017 listing on the London Stock Exchange, the company expanded iwith major additions in thermal across the United States, Mexico and Trinidad and in Renewables, like the 250 MW portfolio of concentrated solar power (CSP) plants in Spain. ContourGlobal was also an early mover in repowering and revamping, leading large modernization programs in wind (Austria), hydro (Armenia), and solar PV (Italy).

A new chapter began in 2022 when ContourGlobal became privately held under the full ownership of KKR. Since the appointment of President and CEO Antonio Cammisecra in February 2024, the company is quickly advancing its portfolio transformation and growing into a predominantly renewable IPP.

2025 marks a pivotal year of construction for ContourGlobal, during which the company is set to reach 3 GWh of battery energy storage (BESS) capacity put in operation and more than 650 MW of new photovoltaic (PV) capacity commissioned. These include greenfield flagship assets already in operation, such as the hybrid PV & BESS plant Quillagua I and II in Chile, and the first phase of the solar project Black Hollow Sun I in the United States. In advanced construction are the Victor Jara PV & BESS plant in Chile, the stand-alone BESS project in Bulgaria, and the final stage of a revamping and repowering PV project in Italy.

At the same time, ContourGlobal reaffirmed its leadership in sustainable finance by issuing earlier this year USD $1 billion in green bonds to support its next wave of renewable and storage investments.

The new brand identity embodies the company’s distinctive ability to deliver reliable and affordable clean power through proven renewables and natural gas. Inspired by the idea that energy transitions have always powered human progress leading to relevant social and cultural transformations, the new identity system highlights clean energy as a powerful force for positive change.

The visual system introduces dynamic elements and graphical patterns that reflect the movement and behavior of energy itself, sitting at the core of the brand’s expression. These motions enrich the company’s narrative across its three sustainable business pillars (Doing Clean Power Right, Building Reliable Partnerships and Creating Shared Value Responsibly), ensuring a diverse, innovative and coherent expression.

While the company retains its name, underscoring its continued commitment to operational excellence, international portfolio footprint and a multicultural work environment, the logotype has been fully redesigned with a more linear and technological look and feel. The logomark, composed of eleven rotating lines around a central point, forms a harmonious yet dynamic symbol that captures ContourGlobal’s purpose, the movement of energy, and an optimistic outlook toward forward-looking solutions.

A refreshed color palette moves away from traditional institutional tones used by players in this field, towards brighter, more contemporary shades that evoke clean energy, technology, and innovation. The primary colors, silver and electric yellow, reflect the blend between electrons and bits that characterizes modern electricity, while a strategic set of secondary colors provide options to characterize the different communication pillars with a distinctive voice within a unified system.
