Power Plants in USA

ContourGlobal has solidified its position as a significant Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the United States, with a total of 2.7 GW of power generation capacity across assets in operation and under construction.

Our U.S. thermal operational portfolio, which accounts for 1.3 GW, includes 10 plants strategically located in California, New Mexico, and Texas. These plants provide essential baseload power to the grid, contributing to the stability and reliability of the U.S. energy infrastructure.

In addition, we have begun renewable operations in Colorado with our first PV plant in the U.S. (Black Hollow Sun phase I), and we have several other renewable projects advancing across multiple states, in different stages of maturity. Our current planned renewable capacity includes approximately 1.5 GW of hybrid renewable capacity — 1.2 GW of solar PV and 0.3 GW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Our Renewable Portfolio

Black Hollow Sun phase I and phase II / Carver

In October 2025, our first renewable asset in the US, Black Hollow Sun I started operations in Colorado. This 185 MW facility, is the initial phase of the Black Hollow Sun complex, which will also include BHS II (139 MWp). When fully completed in 2026, the power complex will reach a total capacity of 324 MWp, enough to power 73,000 more than 73,000 homes in Northern Colorado.

Sterling I and II

In the United States, ContourGlobal is expanding its hybrid renewable portfolio with a major solar-plus-storage project in the western region, strategically located near the Arizona-California border. The project will be built in two phases, with a combined capacity of 509 MWp of solar PV and 360 MW / 1.4 GWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), reaching a total of 868 MW of hybrid capacity once fully operational.

Foster Mill and Wilson Bridge (Suntribe)

In August 2024, we entered into the U.S. renewables market through the acquisition of a 151 MW solar portfolio comprising two PV projects in South Carolina. These assets are expected to commence commercial operations between 2029 and 2031. Both assets have secured long-term PPAs grandfathered into the IRA tax credits, and all grid interconnection studies have been successfully completed. We will oversee the construction, operation and maintenance of these facilities, ensuring timely, efficient and reliable energy delivery.
