Enery, a leading independent green power producer in Central and Eastern Europe, is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Project Lassie, a portfolio of 32 operational photovoltaic (PV) power plants across Slovakia with a total capacity of 34.6 MW. The portfolio was previously owned by ContourGlobal (51%), and Energy Infrastructure Partners (49%), and represents Slovakia’s largest operational solar portfolio. The assets are strategically distributed across the country.

For ContourGlobal, this sale forms part of a strategic asset rotation program, reinforcing the company’s focus on renewable growth in its core geographies and advancing its transformation into a predominantly renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP). The transaction follows other portfolio optimization initiatives launched since 2024 to unlock capital for reinvestment in greenfield development of onshore wind and hybrid PV + BESS projects.

The Lassie portfolio’s scale and diversification make it a cornerstone investment in Enery’s regional growth strategy. With this transaction, Enery’s total operating portfolio expands to 561 MW, increasing total clean energy production to 651 GWh annually. The acquisition further strengthens Enery’s footprint in Slovakia, adding to the company’s existing 10 MW portfolio of three solar PV plants and complementing its Slovak development pipeline of 0.6 GW.

Leadership statements

Richard König and Lukas Nemec, Founders of Enery:

“With this acquisition, we strengthen our position in the Slovak market with a portfolio we know very well. Our commitment is to support the energy transition in Slovakia with affordable, reliable, and long-term green solutions for communities and industries alike. The Slovak industry needs new-build solar, wind, and battery storage to provide long-term, reliable, and competitive renewable electricity for its industrial base and for the industry to be competitive globally.

Ján Horváth, Country Head Slovakia:

“I am delighted that we continue to expand our presence in Slovakia. At Enery Slovakia, we are preparing several projects that will enable industrial companies to reduce their carbon footprint through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and gain access to affordable and reliable green energy. This portfolio acquisition allows us to actively contribute to the decarbonization of the Slovak industry”.

Carlo Zorzoli, Head of Europe and Africa for ContourGlobal:

“This portfolio has played an important role in advancing solar generation in Slovakia and continues to contribute to the country’s clean-energy ambitions. We are very pleased that our partner, Enery, will continue to operate and develop it with the same commitment to reliability and sustainability. For ContourGlobal, this transaction is part of our strategy to focus growth in core geographies and supports our ongoing global transformation into a predominantly renewable IPP – as reflected in our recent rebranding”.
